What’s my business?  My business is chocolate!!

A few years ago a friend of mine helped my start a small business hiring chocolate fountains at weddings, birthday’s corporate events, that sort of thing.  This was the beginning of a relationship with chocolate that is still as strong with me today as it was at the very beginning.

At the start things were pretty tough, finding enquires was ok, I had that covered from the beginning with the help from my mate.  It was the actual logistics of organising each event that I underestimated, plus actually covering the event was no picnic either.  I was mainly relying on ‘word of mouth’ for all other future enquires as I was still very sceptical on how far spending money on wedding fares and newspaper advertising would get me.
 
Since getting the business established I had to consider expanding after I started to receive several bookings requests for the same night and found myself in a position where I at least had to consider buying another set of equipment so I could cover two events on the same night.  Well consider it I did and although it was a risk, it was the best move I made.  Starting the chocolate fountain business from scratch was the first real risk I ever took, from a business perspective anyway.  It was not an easy thing to accomplish but as my good friend always says….”nothing worth doing ever is”.
